14U Connecticut Rockets
Locked and loaded for 2016, our 14U Rockets are a tight group of families who have come together from three different states to build a new kind of travel Team. Full of effort and attitude, our 14's are athletes who take pride in working hard, having fun and playing the game the right way, together.

14U Co-Head Coach
Kevin Ota
After 15 years coaching youth sports at various age groups and competitive levels, Coach Ota sticks to a simple approach. He encourages his Teams to have fun and to play softball the right way, with respect, sportsmanship, all out effort, and always with a positive, forward-thinking attitude. Over the last three years, his tournament Teams have won more than 150 games, advancing to 21 tournament finals and winning nine tournament championships. In addition, his Little League All-Star Teams won four Connecticut District 1 championships and multiple Fairfield County Fastpitch Softball League titles. He is a founding co-chair of Redding-Easton Softball and a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Redding-Easton.
14U Co-Head Coach
Pete Groskritz
Coach Groskritz joined the 14U CT Rockets in the fall of 2015, adding more than 10 years of championship A-level softball coaching experience to the Program. Prior to joining the Rockets, he led his former Purple teams to multiple tournament championships while competing at the highest levels throughout the northeast and at the USSSA World Series in Orlando, FL. Coach Pete and the CT Rockets collaborated for years as competitors, friends and occasional teammates on the travel softball circuit, and officially came together to form a solid partnership, creating opportunities for gifted athletes to compete and develop at the highest level. With Coach Pete, the 14U Rockets we will be running at one speed: full-throttle.
14U Asst. Coach
Dave McCann
Coach McCann is the All-Everything Coach for the 14U CT Rockets. He instructs hitters, calls pitches, keeps the scorebook, coaches first base, inspires the Team from the bench ... you name it, he does it! No one cares more or dedicates more time and energy to helping improve a Team and its individual players than Coach McCann. Along with Coach Ota, he has guided tournament Teams to an average of 50 wins in each of the last three seasons, including nine tournament titles. He also helped lead the Redding-Easton All-Star Rockets to three Connecticut LIttle League District 1 titles and multiple FCFSL championships. Coach McCann is a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Redding-Easton and a member of the Redding-Easton Softball committee.
